How to Troubleshoot a Windows Media Player Registry Problem

    • 1). Open your Internet browser and navigate to the Windows Media Player download site. The link is provided in "Resources" at the bottom of the page.

    • 2). Click the "Download" link. A prompt will load, asking if you are sure you want to download the program. Click "Yes" and Windows Media Player will begin to download on your computer.

    • 3). Double-click the downloaded file to load the installation wizard.

    • 4). Accept the end-user agreement, then leave the installation name and location as-is. This will ensure the program installs over the previous version.

    • 5). Click "Install" and Windows Media Player will install on your computer. This corrects the registry issue on your computer system.
