How to Empty an iPod Nano

    • 1). Plug the iPod Nano into the computer. It needs to be charged. If it's not, let it charge.

    • 2). Open iTunes. Depending on your preferences, it may open when the computer reads the iPod.

    • 3). Click on your iPod on the right-hand toolbar.

    • 4). Uncheck the box to stop automatic syncing.

    • 5). Click "Restore." Choose the option in the next screen to set the iPod up as a new one.

    • 6). Let it sit for a few minutes. The iPod will reset. ITunes will ask you to rename it and if you want to transfer to the iPod. Click "No."

    • 7). Eject the iPod and unplug it.
