My GU2700XTSB Whirlpool Dishwasher Is Dead With No Power
- The GU2700XTSB does not have a power cord installed when it is assembled at the Whirlpool factory. This is because the appliance must be tied directly into your home's circuitry using a conduit cable. The conduit cable is hard-wired to the terminal block, located below the lower front panel of the dishwasher.
- If the dishwasher has no power, the first item to check is your breaker panel. Your dishwasher should be on its own circuit, and has its own breaker assigned to it. At the breaker panel, locate the number of the dishwasher breaker and inspect it for a red marking in the clear window beside the breaker. If a red marking is present, the breaker has blown and must be reset. To reset the breaker, turn the breaker to the "Off" position and then back to the "On" position.
- Occasionally, the dishwasher's control board, which is an electronic component, will freeze. A frozen control board may give the impression that no power is flowing to the dishwasher. To unfreeze the control board, you must reset the dishwasher completely. Turn off the dishwasher breaker in your service panel. Allow the breaker to remain off for at least 30 seconds and then turn the breaker back to the "On" position.
- Another reason your dishwasher may appear to not be receiving power is if the motor has been overloaded due to an electrical surge. The motor has a built-in safety that prevents the component from burning out. The safety locks the motor for several minutes, after which time it automatically unlocks. In this instance, walking away from the dishwasher for 20 to 30 minutes provides sufficient time for the motor to unlock.
