    • 1). Knead your black and white polymer clay separately to condition it, which helps soften it. Roll a black polymer clay ball approximately 3 inches wide.

    • 2). Press the black clay ball into a thick crescent shape, similar to a banana. Round out one side for the head. Pinch out a tail at the opposite end.

Pinch the tail to form a crescent shape perpendicular to the body. Shape the tail so it is even and thin.

    • 4). Pull out a triangular dorsal fin, the fin at the top of the body. Form the fin so its point gently leans to the back of the orca's body. Pull out small oval shapes for the fins at the front sides of the body. These look like small flippers.

    • 5). Smooth the body all over. Turn it around to check your progress. Shape a thinner nose at the head. Poke two eyes on either side of the head with a toothpick. The indentation is shallow, roughly 1/8 inch deep.

    • 6). Roll two 1 inch balls from the white polymer clay. Flatten into ovals. Press the pieces on either side of the front of the orca, for the white just behind the eyes. Draw a mouth line with the toothpick 1/8 inch deep across the front of the orca, below the nose.

    • 7). Flatten a 2 inch wide white ball with a rolling pin until it is approximately 1/4 inch thick. Cut out an oval 3 inches long with a knife. Press this white oval onto the underneath area of the orca. Remove any excess white with the knife. Form two oval pieces for the back patches of the orca. Press them onto either side of the back of the orca near the tail.

    • 8). Smooth the entire orca's body with your finger tips.
