How to Write First Names Phonetically in iPhone Contacts
- 1). Tap the "Contacts" application icon on the iPhone's home screen.
- 2). Scroll to the name of the contact you want to amend, or tap the "+" icon in the menu bar to add a new contact.
- 3). Tap the "Edit" button in the menu bar. Scroll to the bottom of the contact record screen.
- 4). Tap the "+" icon in the green circle beside "Add Field."
- 5). Tap "Phonetic First Name" in the Add Field screen. Type the phonetic first name into the field. Enter the name as it sounds; for example, "Shuvawn" instead of "Siobhan." If you are creating a new contact, type the contact's email addresses and phone numbers into the relevant input fields.
- 6). Click the "Done" button to save your changes. This adds the phonetic first name to the contact record.
