How to Set Cinch Mole Traps
- 1). Remove the dirt from a fresh mole mound. Dig below the ground surface, approximately 6 to 8 inches until you reach the tunnel area. Pull dirt from the tunnels so two traps, one in each tunnel, can be placed there.
- 2). Hold the trap so the two set wires dangle from the bottom. The set wires are approximately 3 inches long.
- 3). Pull the round loop on the trigger wire fully back towards you. The trap is now ready to be set.
- 4). Hold the trap's metal base in one hand. Fold the spring-loaded active wire down so it meets the metal base. Hold the spring-loaded active wire in the palm of your hand.
- 5). Move the rearward-set wire horizontally over the spring-loaded active wire.
- 6). Fold the second set wire over the first set wire in a vertical position. Push the loop of the trigger wire, from Step 3, forward until the tabs of the small open-ended loop engages the second set wire to secure it in place. The spring-loaded active wire should now be held securely.
- 7). Place one trap in each of the two tunnels you excavated in Step 1.
