We Have All the Time in the World and Not a Moment to Waste

Getting it right takes time.
There is no shortcut to consciousness.
Often the path is tortuous, sometimes smooth.
Each twist and turn adds polish to the roughcut diamond.
We are gems in the making, and how intensely we shine depends on how regally we play.
To be a real player takes courage.
We have to embrace our life as our own and fully participate at every moment.
Many of us look like players but we are simply going through the motions.
We have learned what to do in order to look like our lives have meaning.
But even with all the accoutrements of a successful life, we still don't feel vital and awake.
That is because aliveness is a function of essence, not of form.
To feel alive, we must decide where to put our attention and how to spend our time.
Unless we are willing to go for what nourishes our soul, rather than for what satisfies our head, we will never connect to that essence.
Ultimately, where we choose to focus our energy determines the quality of our life.
Any situation can be the starting point for being real.
We manifest that opportunity in everything we do, regardless of the people or circumstances.
As our life unfolds in front of us, we make choices, and these choices set the ground rules.
They determine the playing field and the players-whom we keep close to and whom we move away from.
How we choose either opens the way to essence or closes it.
Our timetable must always be our own and serves us best if it is open-ended, a limitless backdrop for choices to reverberate against, allowing us to determine what feels true for us.
We do it till we get it right-that is the commitment we make to ourselves.
We may not be able to change another person's way of looking at the world, but we can surely decide whether we want to be around that person or not.
Either we grow and flourish in someone's company or we do not.
This is not just about feeling good, but about feeling genuine.
And since feeling real is the barometer of the Inner Self, the less conditional we make the choice, the better.
Stripped of all "what ifs," we choose from the heart, able to commit to life and wherever the path might lead us.
This is why we have all the time in the world to do it right and not a moment to waste with something that is manipulative and devoid of essence.
Our life has depth because we are willing to touch it.
Without judgment, we unequivocally accept responsibility for the choices we have made, and know that, if need be, we can make new ones.
Suddenly doors open.
A kaleidoscope of opportunities reveals itself.
No longer confused, we are ready for the changes that are to come.
We are confident that they are just perfect for us and that we are perfect right back.
