Graduation Party Idea - Sweets
Ideas for having sweets as part of your graduation party comes in two forms: sweets that you will serve during the party and sweets that you may choose to send home with your guests.
Sweets that you will serve at your party: This typically refers to either a large sheet cake that has been decorated to honor the graduate, cupcakes (also decorated, if possible), and bowls of sweets for everyone to snack on such as M&Ms, jellybeans, or other similar candies.
Sheets cakes are typically the most cost-effective dessert to serve to your guests, especially if homemade.
You will find 24 different homemade decorated graduation cakes on the website "Coolest-Birthday-Cakes".
Most local supermarkets and warehouse stores, like Costco, that have bakeries that can also turn out terrific cakes for reasonable prices.
Cupcakes are lots of fun and 'the rage' now.
If you decide not to make them yourselves turn to your supermarket or warehouse store and talk to the bakery about how you would like your cupcakes decorated.
Perhaps with a graduation cap or scroll? Or maybe something like "Class of '09" on each cupcake? The M&M website enables you to order personalized M&Ms (color and what's imprinted on them) and this could be a fun option for putting out bowls of candy.
It's a bit pricy, though.
Sweets to send home with your guests: These serve as your party favors and are always well-received (who doesn't like receiving gifts - and delicious ones as that).
You have the option of purchasing your favors and some of your choices are: chocolate diploma lollipops, personalized label Hershey bars, personalized label mint tins, even personalized label caramel corn! You can also make your own sweet-treat favor bags by purchasing favor bags at most any craft store.
Then, with your computer and printer, make your own labels and affix them to the bags.
All that is left to do is to fill them with the candy of your choice or homemade cookies.
Your guests will love to take home these treats.
