How to Repair a Windows 98 Boot

    • 1). Insert the Windows 98 Boot disk into your floppy drive.

    • 2). Restart your computer. This will boot your computer in MS-DOS system with a command prompt waiting for you.

    • 3). Type without the quotes "sys" and hit "Enter." This will list a bunch of options that are available to you for this command.

    • 4). Type "sys c:" and press "Enter." Replace "c" with the drive letter that stores your system files. It is typically your "C:" drive.

    • 5). Wait patiently as Windows fixes its boot sector. Remove the Windows 98 Boot Disk when prompted and restart your computer to end task.
