    • 1). Open a text editor, like Notepad, from the Start menu. Notepad can be opened by clicking the "Start" button, clicking on "All Programs," clicking on "Accessories" and then opening the Notepad program.

    • 2). Click the "File" button, select "Save As" and enter the name of the file , followed by a ".bat" extension. Be sure that the file type is set to "All Files" in the drop-down, not "Text Files."

    • 3). Enter the commands you wish to run into the text file and then save it. If this file is double-clicked on, it will execute the commands contained within it.
