Gardening is an enjoyable activity for many people, including myself.
It is a labor of love and one that is very satisfying when taking the necessary steps to yield beautiful flowers, vegetables and plants.
These steps include:preparing the garden bed with plenty of fertile soil; planting seeds and bulbs; placing them in the best location where they receive lots of sunshine; showering them with nourishing water; and then watching them grow and bloom with delight.
Another very important step in the gardening process is to remove the weeds.
The weeds can limit the full growth and potential of the flowers, plants and vegetables.
You may be asking, "What does gardening have to do with my own growth?"Gardening is a wonderful metaphor for life, growth and transformation.
The gardening metaphor relates to the importance of tending to your own inner garden.
That is, your thoughts, attitude and behavior have a lot to do with your ability to experience positive growth, change and transformation in your own life.
The act of pulling the weeds is similar to clearing the blocks that may be impeding your growth.
Tending to your own garden can be an important part of your ability to transform self-doubt into self-trust.
It can make a big difference to enable you to step into the future with greater ease and confidence.
It is a common and normal experience that when we begin to stretch beyond our comfort zone and make meaningful changes, feelings of self-doubt and fears arise.
Everyone can relate to this.
The biggest obstacle that we experience comes from inside of us.
It comes in the form of a negative inner voice that is critical and judgmental.
This can hinder us from moving forward.
This is our "Inner Critic".
We all have some form of an inner critic.
The key to limiting self-doubt is to unlearn the doubts and perceived limitations by adopting a more positive habit that is consistent with the best of who you are.
As such, the key to overcoming your own inner critic is to develop trust in yourself.
It comes from having an optimistic and realistic belief in your natural true potential.
When we have a high level of trust and faith in ourselves and our abilities, we tend to feel more resourceful.
We are more willing to take on challenges and risks in order to realize our goals and dreams.
In essence, when our trust in ourselves is high and we are engaged in something that is meaningful to us, we are able to neutralize the inner critic by facing challenges, taking risks and acting, despite having the fear.
So what about you, dear reader, have you been tending to your own garden?Have you taken action to clear the weeds of limiting beliefs? What would it feel like to transform your self-doubt into self-trust and cultivate your full potential?
