How to Remove a CD Player From a Trooper

    • 1). Lift the Isuzu's hood and loosen the bolt securing the grounding cable to the negative battery terminal with the wrench. Remove the cable from the battery and set it aside. Move to the Trooper's interior.

    • 2). Remove the four screws around the perimeter of the gear selector lever box with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the center console (containing the gear selector) toward the rear of the vehicle to make room to remove the stereo deck.

    • 3). Remove the two screws at the top edge of the trim panel surrounding the stereo and climate controls with the screwdriver. Remove the single screw at the bottom of the stereo assembly, between the ashtray and the lighter/12 volt outlet at the bottom of the dashboard.

    • 4). Grab the trim panel and pull it away from the stereo assembly. Disconnect the wiring connected to the outlets on the back of the panel and set it aside.

    • 5). Remove the two screws holding the CD player into the stereo mounting bracket with the screwdriver. Slide the head unit from the Trooper's dashboard. Disconnect the stereo wiring and antenna cable from the outlets on the rear panel of the CD player.
