How to Install a Vista-Ready Hardware Upgrade
- 1). Turn off your computer and disconnect the power, then open the case.
- 2). Remove your old hardware. Ensure your are grounded via an anti-static wrist strap or by touching the metal of the case at all times. If necessary, consult your computer documentation or contact your computer's manufacturer for instructions regarding the removal of that piece of hardware.
- 3). Install your new hardware. If necessary, consult the included documentation for instructions. Ensure is it properly connected, then continue.
- 4). Turn on your computer, then install your driver files. If a driver disc was not included with the hardware, visit your hardware manufacturer's website and download the driver file. Once the installation is initialized, follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. Once complete, you will have successfully installed your Vista-ready hardware upgrade.
