Don"t Give Up On Me Please
I am not a big Facebook fan and for many reasons.
However, I still find that every once in awhile I get on there just to peruse.
Just recently though, my purpose for getting on there was to build a business profile for my company.
As I'm trying to figure it out, I notice that I am going back and forth between my personal profile making updates and posts periodically.
Most of the time I try to keep them positive or goofy while ignoring half the picture quotes.
Why do I ignore the picture quotes? I'll tell you why.
We live in a society where we say make marijuana legal, don't pay prison officials because it creates criminals, don't take away our gun rights because people, not guns, kill people and so on.
Then we have all the political posts that drive me insane and it's mostly because so many of them are filled with assumptions, misinformation and twists to fit each individual.
Now, without making this a political debate (simply because I do not like debating politics) I will admit they inspired me to write this.
How? First, if we didn't have prisons or jails and we didn't pay the officials to run them, society would have many offenders such as domestic violence, robbery, rape and homicide to name a few just wandering around aimlessly.
Add to this the amount of people driving under the influence of prescription drugs, alcohol, marijuana and such and we're in even more trouble.
Second, we throw in the mix--guns.
We have so many guns in this world it's scary.
We have pistols, revolvers, derringers, rifles, shotguns, machine guns and assault rifles.
I'm sure there are way more than even I am familiar with.
Third, we have people who say that the government is lousy.
That it is filled with hypocritical and just plain awful people.
We hear complaints non-stop about why they don't tell us everything they know, or ask why do the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and why do they get to kill people and so on and so on and so on.
Whatever their reason, it is theirs and no one can take that away from them.
If we combine these together we have a deadly concoction of some serious criminals who commit crimes so heinous that, them and us are probably much safer locked up.
So by now I'm sure you're asking what my point is and how does this relate to my business.
So, I'll tell you.
The FBI uniform crime reports indicate that in Denver Colorado, the population is 628,545.
Out of this number, the reported violent crimes were committed by 1,765 people, 216 people committed rape, 20 people murdered someone and 492 citizens committed some form of robbery.
The statistics go on to tell us the number of reported assaults, property crimes, burglaries, larceny-thefts, arsons and motor vehicle thefts.
Some of these offenders may never be released.
While some never should, some should and will be.
Domestic violence offenders, DUI offenders, robbery offenders and more will have taken their responsibility and accountability and will move forward with their life.
Without making this a research paper, let's cut to the chase and ask what happens when they are released.
After they have completed the court's requirements by paying fees and court-costs, satisfying the probation and counseling expectations and such they will try to move on with their life.
For some, this will be hard.
Hard, but not impossible.
Life coaches can help them find a new path to living productive and satisfying lives after they are done being accountable for their crimes and actions and paying their dues to the system and society.
Sometimes adversity, trials, trauma legal problems and so on can lead a person to want to make changes in their life, but more so to make positive changes.
Often times this can be accomplished by asking questions rather than giving answers.
Questions that help them see what it is they really have to offer and what they have within them to achieve and conquer.
Someone to show them that if they have goals or dreams, desires and destinies they can be achieved, only making their set-backs a part of their past necessary for their future.
The life coach that focuses on the offender can help them navigate through the obstacles in their minds by focusing and establishing on positive and consistent action and thought while engaging in professional co-creative relationships.
Of course there is so much more involved and the outcome and results depend on the client.
