Women Safety Tip - Car Danger Awareness
When you use an ATM to get "money out of the wall," what do you do after you get the cash? Do you count the cash right there, at the machine? I know you know not to; it's common, good sense.
We know it, but I still see both women and men count their money right after it comes out of the slot.
It's a natural human tendency, to want to make sure that the machine spat out the correct amount.
So, you count.
You count, even though that's a vulnerable spot.
It's a real danger zone.
You're Not Safe Yet May I ask how you travel to the ATM? Do you zip there in a car? Well, counting your money once you get back to your car isn't much safer.
You are still vulnerable to attack, even if you lock your door.
There are tools that will shatter a car window with just the slightest of taps.
Ping, and suddenly there is a robber in your face.
So, counting your money in your car is out.
And while we're on the subject, there are a few other taboo activities for the car.
Don't go through your mail in the car, especially if you're parked in a dangerous area.
Also avoid putting on make-up after work in the parking lot.
Spending time in one place, when the place isn't safe is definitely not a good idea.
Can you think of other times that you are parked for a period of time in a dangerous area? An over park? Waiting at night in front of the library for your child to come out of the building?Putting your hair up/back while parked in front of the studio, before an exercise class.
Conclusion You won't be able to avoid all of these occurrences.
After all, your kid does need to be picked up, from time to time.
I just want everyone to be aware that these potential hazards exist.
Awareness is the first step to prevention.
