Why Doesn't My Refrigerator Water Dispenser Work?
- Water dispensers only work when the refrigerator and freezer door are closed to prevent spillage. Ensure the door is completely shut, with no bulky containers or bottles of drink holding the door slightly ajar, and try the dispenser again.
- Hold the "Lock" or padlock icon button for between three to five seconds to turn off the dispenser's child lock; you might have locked the dispenser to stop your kids from playing with the refrigerator. Water and ice dispensing should resume with the child lock switched off.
- Move the refrigerator forward, check the water supply hose for kinks and ensure the shutoff valve is in the open position. See that the pipe doesn't become kinked when you move the refrigerator back. A restriction in the water flow affects the ice and water dispenser.
- A clogged or incorrectly installed water filter may interrupt the flow of water to the ice maker and water dispenser. Ensure the filter is installed based on the instructions provided for your specific refrigerator. The water filter should be changed approximately every six months.
