Will Obama"s Rise Help in Shattering the Glass Ceiling Syndrome?
No black has reached the most powerful position in the world for close to 200 years in America's history.
It is now only that an African American has dared to dream a dream and has successfully chased it.
America is synonymous with spirit of free enterprise.
And country has supported Multiculturalism over the years.
But an invisible ceiling has always existed.
From the year 2000, there has been a great progress in bringing equality in amongst men and women, black and white but balance has not yet been archived.
The top and senior positions have remained skewed towards the men and whites.
More and more women are coming forward and taking senior positions but even in a country like America a very minuscule percentage of women are heading and occupying the top positions in the organizations.
Mr.
Obama's ascendancy to the throne will definitely bring about some balancing changes but how fast these can come about the whole world will be watching it with interest.
Obama is of extraordinary genre, when he speaks whole world listens.
He has the ability to build bridges and sway masses.
The results are there for everybody to see.
Certainly these developments will encourage African Americans, Hispanic Americans and for that matter Asian Americans to come forward and take up more responsible positions.
