Sighting in Rifling

Scope sighting and regular sighting in a rifle seem to be a very hard thing for new shooters to grasp. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it the first time.

You need to make sure you go to the correct rifle range. You will need different yardages to shoot from. Sometimes an animal will be up close and sometimes far away, so you need to be prepared for either situation. Look all over for one in your area. If you can't then you need to find a space that is away from everything else. After you get the right space, then you need to make the right measurements and set up the correct ranges and places to fire from.

You need to bore sight your rifle first. It can be done the way they used to do it. If you want to do it the right way, get a rifle that will allow you to see the barrel from the gun's rear. You need to mount a rifle scope onto your rifle and try to focus in on the barrel. You need to take away the bolt and look to see if you have the prey in the middle of the rifle scope. You should make sure the rifle scope is resting. Make sure to move the iron sights to where the prey is in the middle of it. Shoot at it again.

Don't panic if you don't hit the target. Many people don't. You will need to shoot from different spots. Make sure the rifle is on the sand bag rest. As the rifle is resting, put the iron sights in the middle of the target. Make sure that you adjust the sight settings. Once you do that, make sure you can clearly see the sight settings. You should shoot again. Make sure you utilize your tools.

Make sure you use all of your equipment that you will use to shoot with.

You should be calm and aim.

Don't get discouraged if you don't hit the target. It just takes time and practice. Not many people are able to do it on their first few attempts, especially if the target is far away.
