How to Grow Pakalana
- 1). Grow pakalana vine in a full-sun location. Although it will survive with partial shade, the vine won't flower as profusely.
- 2). Test the soil's pH in the area you wish to grow pakalana. It requires a pH of 7 or below.
- 3). Provide the pakalana vine with a support system on which to climb, such as a chain-link fence, trellis or arbor.
- 4). Water the pakalana to keep the soil slightly moist.
- 5). Prune the pakalana vine to keep it to the size you desire. Wait until it finishes a flush of flowers to prune.
- 6). Fertilize the pakalana vine in spring before it produces new flowers. Use a 7-9-5 fertilizer, at the rate suggested on the label. Apply the fertilizer to the soil around the base of the vine.
