You turn on your computer and it boots up only to find an error message saying something like, "Windows encountered an error accessing the system registry.
" Sometimes the computer will seemingly work as normal while at other times the system will continue to restart and attempt to repair this error.

The first thing you should do is to make sure you have sufficient disk space.

If you can't access the computer, try pushing F8 after you hit the power button and boot in safe mode.
Then delete some files making sure that you have some disk space.
A couple gigabytes will be plenty.
Something that you should be in the habit of doing is shutting down your computer properly.
When the computer goes through the shut down sequence, it's not just powering off.
It's actually saving your settings and changes to the registry.
Improper shutdowns is likely the reason for this type of registry error.
A third and important option is to get a registry cleaner software.
This software will scan the computer for errors in the registry and help fix them.
It's important to keep the registry clean to avoid problems but to also help the computer run more efficiently.
