How to Make Your Western Digital Passport Work With a Blu-Ray Player

    • 1). Plug the USB cable from the My Passport into an open USB drive on your computer.

    • 2). Click the Windows orb and click "Control Panel." Click "Administrative Tools" under the "System and Security" section. Click the "Computer Management" option and enter the administrator password into the prompt that appears.

    • 3). Click the "Disk Management" icon under "Storage." Right-click the "MyPassport" icon and click "Format." Click the "File System" menu and click the "NTFS" option. Click "OK" and "OK" in the warning prompt to change the drive to a format compatible with your Blu-ray player.

    • 4). Double-click the "MyPassport" icon on your desktop and drag any digital videos or pictures you want to display on your TV into the drive's folder. Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon and click "Eject" under the "MyPassport" section to disconnect from your computer.

    • 5). Plug the USB cable into one of the "USB" ports on the Blu-ray player. Turn on the Blu-ray player and navigate to the "Devices" section in the menu. Highlight the "USB Storage" option and press "Enter." Highlight the video file you want to play and press "Enter" to play it through your Blu-ray player.
