For example, at a pediatric dental office, provide small tables and chairs for children to color or read at as well as toys to entertain them. For teenagers and adults, provide comfortable seating with books, magazines or quality TV.
- 3). Paint the office in colors that will relax and calm patients, no matter their age. Softer hues invoke a calming and relaxed experience for most patients, which may be ideal for pediatric dentists' offices. Darker colors are more rich and quiet, which may be suited for older patients.
- 4). Mix different textures into the design of the office to keep it engaging, yet elegant. Use textiles around the windows to create window treatments, add rugs to the floor to keep the space comfortable and warm. Add artwork to the walls to enhance the look of the overall space.
- 5). Incorporate lighting into the office, layering the light depending on the function. For example, soft overhead lighting mixed with table lamps in the waiting room may be sufficient, more light may be needed for the reception desk.
