How to Calculate Phase

    • 1). Extrapolate the frequency of the sine wave. If the equation is given as "sin(wt + p)", then the frequency is w divided by 2*pi. If the equation is given as "sin(2*pi*f*t + p)", then the frequency is f.

    • 2). Locate the time differential of the sine wave. This value will be given and will most likely be labeled as "delta t."

    • 3). Multiply the frequency by the time differential. Multiply that total value by 360. The resulting value is the phase angle.
