How to Ship Canned Glass Jars
- 1). Tape the base of the box with shipping tape to ensure the weight of the jars will not collapse the box. Pour an inch of packing peanuts into the base of the box. Cut the spare cardboard into 4inch tall pieces and set them into the box at 4 inches apart. These slots will give more stability to the jars while they are being shipped.
- 2). Wrap each of the sealed jars in a sheet of bubble wrap twice the height and four times the width of the jar. For a standard 6 inch jar, use a sheet of 12 by 12 inch bubble wrap. Gently lay the jar onto the warp on your table, and roll the jar up into the wrap. Tape the ends of the excess wrap over the top and bottom of the jar.
- 3). Set the jars into the box, upright into their specific slots in the cardboard frame. pour more packing peanuts over the top of the jars. Close the lid to the box and tape it closed. Label the box with the marker, and send it out through either priority mail, UPS or FEDEX.
