    • 1). Complete high school or a high school equivalence.

    • 2). Enroll in a course that trains and certifies occupational hearing conservationists (OHCs). Make sure that the course is accredited by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation. These courses are typically 20 hours long and teach you about audiometric techniques, personal hearing protection devices, audiometer operation and other necessary skills.

    • 3). Complete your course by taking and passing your exams, including an inspection of your practical technique and a written exam.
