    • 1). Attach the device to the 30-pin dock connector, the connection point located on the bottom of your iPod, where you would normally plug in the charger. You will receive a message notifying you to download the necessary software.

    • 2). Tap "App Store" on your iPod's home screen.

    • 3). Search for the remote control application using the name of your provider. Most applications for this are free.

    • 4). Tap "Buy" and "Install" to download the program. You may be prompted for a username and password.

    • 5). Tap on the icon once it has been downloaded onto your iPod.

    • 6). Search for a list of equipment that you would like to use the remote for. The list will have built-in IR codes so that your iPod will immediately learn how to access and use that piece of equipment.

    • 7). Add as many rooms as you like. The rooms will allow you to house the IR codes for each electronic device you want to control. You will have access to audio and video equipment throughout your home or office.

    • 8). Tap the icon when you want to use your remote and select the room. Your iPod will vibrate when the remote is turned on.

    • 9). Tap "Rooms" and "Assign Activity" to add your favorite channels. The iPod will assign a logo to each favorite channel. This will remove the trouble of remembering the channel or searching for it when you want to watch it.
