Every organization has to set goals, and a women's ministry is no different.
Setting goals enables a women's ministry to progress with a direction, so that the leaders and members will know what they need to achieve.
Goals can be long-term or short-term objectives, and they have to be set from time to time to ensure that all members will work towards the same purposes.
The success of a women's ministry depends on how well the members are able to meet goals, and how their achievements can benefit the ministry, the church, and the community.
When you are making preparations to start a women's ministry, it is necessary that you come up with a mission statement.
A mission statement will reveal all the goals that the ministry has to achieve throughout its existence.
These goals are general objectives that may not involve the completion of specific tasks, but they form the core principles that govern the planning and execution of the ministry's activities.
All the specific goals that you set for your ministry later on have to be in line with the objectives that are listed in the mission statement.
Some of the goals that are usually included in a mission statement are encouraging spiritual growth among members, creating opportunities for social interaction, meeting the needs of the unfortunate in the community, and others.
You have to make sure that all your leaders and members will be dedicated to fulfilling the primary goals of your ministry.
When you are not satisfied with certain things that are happening in your women's ministry and you want to make positive changes, you have to set some short-term goals.
These goals can be increasing attendance for bible studies, promoting friendliness among members, getting members to develop certain skills, making members better homemakers, developing more prayer warriors, and others.
To set the right short-term goals, you have to assess the most urgent needs of the ministry and the church.
This can be done by observing the behavior of the women in the church or holding a meeting with your leaders and members.
You also have to set short-term goals when you are planning an event or activity.
It is important that you set a completion date for the project, an attendance goal, a spiritual or social impact goal, and other goals.
If you are organizing a fundraising event, you have to set a goal for the amount of money that will be donated.
