DIY Glitter Crowns

    • 1). Measure the circumference of your head by wrapping a piece of string around it where the crown will sit and marking the string where it overlaps itself.

    • 2). Cut a piece of heavy paper to the length indicated by the string plus 3/4 inches and to a width of 4 inches.

    • 3). Draw triangles along one long edge of the paper with the pencil. The triangles should all be the same dimensions. The bottom edge of the paper serves as the base of each triangle. Draw the triangles so that the base of each touches the triangles on either side. You are designing the points of the crown, so choose triangle dimensions that fit the effect you want to create. For example, if you want tall and narrow points, draw triangles that reach deep into the paper and are narrow. If you want small and regular points, draw small equilateral triangles.

    • 4). Cut out the excess paper along the lines you have drawn, leaving the triangles you have sketched out as the points of the crown. You now have a flattened crown.

    • 5). Smear the glue stick all over one side of the flat crown.

    • 6). Place the flat crown on a large piece of paper, glue side up. Sprinkle glitter all over the crown.

    • 7). Remove the flat crown from the paper and set it somewhere safe until the glue is dry.

    • 8). Pour the leftover glitter back into the glitter container using the large piece of paper as a funnel.

    • 9). Curl the flat crown in a circle, glitter side out. Overlap the ends about 3/4 inches. Staple the ends together.
