Instructions for Making Paper Gift Bags
- 1). Place the first sheet of paper with the pattern facing down on your work surface.
- 2). Put the box on top of the paper with enough paper space on each side of the paper to wrap at least half way up the box. The box is a form for your bag--a cereal box is an ideal shape.
- 3). Fold both long sides of the paper up on the box, and then fold in the two short edges in diagonally as though you were wrapping a present.
- 4). Stick some double-sided tape along the bottom edge and sides of the first paper.
- 5). Turn your box over and repeat with your second sheet of paper, placing the second sheet pattern-side out. It will stick to your first piece since you applied the tape in the previous step.
- 6). Take the box out of your new bag. If you need to make adjustment by strengthening the folds to make the bag more uniform in shape, do so now.
- 7). Fold top edges of bag in to create a double layer for extra strength.
- 8). Space two eyelets evenly on each side of the bag.
- 9). Thread 12 inches of ribbon through each set of eyelets to create bag handles. Knot on each end on the inside of the eyelets.
