Dana Wireless

The Bottom Line
I was fascinated by the idea of a mobile gadget that combined the best of PDAs/Handhelds with laptops. The Dana Wireless is sure to impress mobile workers with it's capabilities and the ability to keep mobile workers connected and maintain their productivity while on the road. Mobile workers who love their PDAs but want the functionality of their laptops will find that the Dana Wireless delivers as a laptop alternative.

Guide Review - Dana Wireless
The Dana Wireless I received for review included Quick Office Pro and Documents to Go Pro editions. It also included a stylus, USB cable, AC adapter and Internet software.
Getting up and running with the Dana Wireless quick and easy, once I found where the stylus was located. The stylus has a very handy holder on the right side of unit. The slot for the stylus keeps it secure and won't fall out when not in use.
My delay in locating the stylus would have been avoided had I read completely the User Guide - we should all remember to do this first.
I was able to set up the Dana Wireless to connect to the Internet via my wireless network without any difficulty and no problems with syncing with my desktop. Another important point to remember is to install the desktop software first - the disk has a prominent sticker to remind users.
While the Dana is marketed to the education sector, I found that it was a strong tool for mobile workers. Taking notes during meetings with just a stylus can be time consuming, but using the full-size keyboard on the Dana Wireless was no different than using a laptop.
The Dana Wireless fills a need for those mobile workers who want to require more than just a PDA while on the road but don't want to have to carry a laptop and PDA at all times.
I was very pleased with the operating time - significantly more than any laptop and I could still work with familiar file types.
The only learning curve for me was using the Grafitti software. It takes practice.
