• A person with a degree in Wildlife Conservation may enjoy this career choice. A wildlife biologist studies various types of animals in the wild. For many, this is a seasonal job during the spring, summer and fall. One of the main duties of this job is to identify specific species and to study the effects of modern society and pollution on the animals.
  
  

Animal Care Specialist

• The military employs animal care specialists to care for patrol dogs, sea mammals, ceremonial horses and other animals in its care. This is one animal biologist job that doesn't require special training. The military will provide your training. For example, if you join the army as an animal care specialist, you will complete 9 weeks of boot camp, then 11 weeks of specialized training.
  
  

Herpetologist

• This career is one specializing in the care of amphibians and reptiles. These professionals are charged with caring for the animals and doing research to promote conservation methods for each animal. This research can include ecologic, systemic, biochemical, physiological, behavioral and morphological aspects. In most cases, a degree is required for this job. However, on-the-job training may be substituted in some cases.
  
  

Game and Fish Warden

• Because game and fish wardens deal with animals and wildlife regularly, a good education is required for this job. Each state sets its own qualifications for this job. However, most states require at least a bachelor's degree. Additionally, you may have to pass a physical ability test and a background test. In this career, you will have to monitor animals and human contact with animals within your jurisdiction.
  
  

Professor

• Colleges and universities may hire animal biologists to teach related courses at the institution. This career requires extensive experience and usually an assistant professorship at the institution. If you feel the best part of being an animal biologist is being outside, this career choice may not be the best for you.
