Directions for Paper Pom Poms With Designs on the Paper Tissue
- 1). Stack two to four layers of patterned tissue paper on the work surface, and add four to six layers of solid tissue paper on top for a total of eight sheets of tissue paper. You can also alternate between patterned and solid for a striped flower.
- 2). Fold the bottom edge of the stack of tissue paper upward 1 1/2 inches and crease the paper.
- 3). Repeat Step 2 folding the paper underneath 1 1/2 inches.
- 4). Continue folding the tissue paper back and forth accordion style until you have folded the entire length of the paper.
- 5). Cut a length of paper-wrapped floral wire twice the desired length of the stem. For example, if you want a stem that is 12 inches long, cut 24 inches of wire.
- 6). Fold the wire in half, and place the folded tissue paper between the wires, pushing it all the way into the bend.
- 7). Twist the wire tightly to secure the paper and create the stem.
- 8). Trim the ends of the tissue paper to create rounded or pointed tips.
- 9). Place the folded tissue paper on the work surface with the solid tissue paper facing up, and fan the folds outward on either side of the wire to create two semicircles. If you prefer the patterned tissue paper to be in the center of the pom pom, orient the folds with the patterned paper facing upward.

Lift the top layer of tissue paper and gently pull it upward toward the wire in the center. Continue lifting the tissue paper until you have separated each layer. - 11
Shape the flower by adjusting each layer to create a rounded pom-pom shape. Pull the lower layers downward to form the base of the flower. Separate the patterned layers as far as possible to display the pattern to its full effect.
