How to Install Cabinets in a Trailer
- 1). Level trailer and place stabilizers or jacks to keep trailer level and secure during installation. All measurements and leveling of cabinets will rely on the trailer being level while installation is performed.
- 2). Measure cabinets and transfer marks to the walls of the trailer where the cabinets will hang. Use the level to make sure the walls and marks are level. Temporarily put the cabinets in place to make sure they fit as measured.
- 3). Measure and mark the locations of the wall frame beams on the cabinets. Holes for mounting screws should be predrilled in the cabinet backs or lips on top or bottom of cabinets that align with the wall frames.
- 4). Hold the cabinets in place and use the drill with appropriate bit to screw the cabinet against the wall. After screwing one screw, continue to hold the cabinet and use the level to make sure the cabinet is level vertically and horizontally before inserting the remaining screws.
- 5). Align the face of the cabinets with shims placed behind the cabinets. Use shims underneath the cabinets to align the tops of the cabinets. Place screws horizontally to hold the adjacent cabinets together.
