What is a TV Lift Cabinet?
Gone are the days when buying a large TV requires a big entertainment center or armoir in which to place it.
With today's technology advancement, TVs continue to shrink in terms of depth of the device, while at the same time, providing incredible picture quality.
No only that, the prices of these flat panels continue to drop making them more affordable for more people.
However, the question still remains, where do I put the flat panel.
One option, is to place it an entertainment center or cabinet just like in the past.
These large pieces of furniture can be cumbersome and take up a lot of space but they work quite well and if you already have one then there is no need to spend more money which is a good thing.
But, what if your new TV is too big for your existing cabinet.
Another thing you can do is buy a wall mount or bracket that allows you to mount your new flat panel to the wall similar to a picture frame.
This can be a challenge in that you need to make sure that the bracket is large enough to hold your TV and there is the installation aspect as well.
Installing the bracket takes time as well as it should considering what will be hanging off of it.
You'll need to make sure that you bolt it to the studs in your wall.
Double and triple check your measurements.
The old adage measure twice cut once definitely applies here.
But once installed, the space saved and the view of the incredible picture coming from the TV will be worth the effort.
A third option is to buy what is called a TV lift cabinet.
These wonderful inventions continue to evolve and provide more and more options for your entertainment pleasure.
In essence, this piece of furniture is a cabinet that allows the flat panel to hide while not in use but when you are ready to watch TV simply press a remote and it will lift up out of the cabinet.
Essentially this is how it works, there is a bracket which the TV mounts to which then is connected to a motorized lift mechanism.
The lift is then controlled by a remote control and when the proper button is pushed the TV slides up out of the cabinet.
A TV lift cabinet is no doubt a very cutting edge approach to storing your flat panel.
However, the benefits of having it hidden while not in use as well as the obvious cool factor make it at least worth considering for your next entertainment center.
