How to Find the Box Key on Dish Network Receivers
- 1). Power down the Dish Network receiver. If inserting a new access card, the receiver is unable to perform the upgrade while the receiver is on.
- 2). Look on the front of the Dish Network receiver. On the right side of the device is a small flap roughly the size of a credit card. Flip this flap open to reveal the box key access slot for the receiver.
- 3). Push in the current access card. This unlocks the card, forcing it out of the slot an inch or so. Pull the card out the remainder of the way.
- 4). Insert the new access card (if installing a new card) into the box key card slot, then close the cover to the card and press the "Power" button on the Dish Network receiver for the hardware to upload information form the inserted card.
