How to Add Copyright to Photos
- 1). Open Paint, click the Paint button in the top left corner of the screen and select "Open." Navigate to a photo to copyright and double-click the image so it opens in the Paint workspace.
- 2). Click the "View" tab at the top of the screen and click the "Zoom Out" button so you can see your entire photo in the workspace.
- 3). Click the "Home" tab and click a colored box in the "Colors" section to serve as the color of your copyright marking.
- 4). Click the "Text" tool, which looks like an "A" on the toolbar in the "Tools" section. Select a font and text size. Click the photo and type "COPYRIGHT." Drag the text box into the middle of the photo, in a corner or across the top as preferred.
- 5). Click the Paint button, click "Save As" and type a new name for the photo. Don't save it on top of the original, or you won't be able to access the non-copyrighted version again.
- 1). Open Photoshop, click "File" and select "Open." Browse to the photo to add the copyright protection to it and double-click the file name to open it on the Photoshop screen.
- 2). Click the "Type" tool, which looks like a "T" on the "Tools" palette and select a font, size and text color.
- 3). Click the photo and type "COPYRIGHT." Drag the text box into place on the photo.
- 4). (Optional) Click the "Edit" menu, click "Transform" and click "Rotate." Twirl the side of the text box so it appears on an angle from the bottom left corner to the top right corner of the photo, with the "COPYRIGHT" on an angle.
- 5). Click the "File" menu, click "Save As," give the photo a new name and save it to your computer.
- 1). Open Publisher and click the "Blank 8.5 in. by 11 in." document, the first choice on the "Available Templates" pane.
- 2). Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen and click the "Picture" button directly below it. Browse to find your photo to copyright and double-click the image, opening it on the Publisher workspace.
- 3). Click the "Draw Text Box" button, also on the same toolbar. Press and hold down your left mouse button and drag your cursor to draw a text box on the picture.
- 4). Type the word "COPYRIGHT." Highlight the word, click the "Home" tab at the top of the screen and use the "Font" section to change the way the word "COPYRIGHT" looks with a new font, text size and color.
- 5). Click the "File" menu, click "Save As," give the file a name, and save it to your computer.
