    • 1). Spray the mold with mold release. This will help protect your mold from damage so you can reuse it.

    • 2). Read the manufacturer's instructions for your resin. Mix the resin in a disposable cup using a wooden stick. Be careful to not add too much catalyst, as this can cause shrinking of the final product. Stir carefully so you do not add air bubbles in the mixture, but mix thoroughly for about 2 minutes. At this point, you can add dye, if desired. A few drops of color is adequate for a small amount of resin; too much dye will interfere with curing.

    • 3). Pour resin into the mold. If you are not adding objects or glitter, fill the mold all the way. Fill it only halfway if you plan to add items to the resin. Stop and allow the resin to set up slightly. Add your objects, and then fill the mold the rest of the way. If desired, you can add a wire loop into the resin so your piece can be easily made into a pendant or be hung from earring wires.

    • 4). Blow gently on the resin. This will help break up any bubbles that have formed.

    • 5). Wait at least 24 hours before removing the piece from the mold. The piece may seem completely hard sooner than this, but the resin needs to cure completely.

    • 6). Attach the resin piece to a chain for a necklace, to earrings or any other jewelry finding. If you added a wire loop, this makes hanging the piece from jewelry findings easy. If you did not, you may wish to glue the resin to jewelry findings.
