The Law of Attraction and Your Home Based Business: How to Get Out of the Way of Your Success
I have something to share with you that you might not want to hear.
But I know that you'll actually end up thanking me once you get it, so here goes...
If you're not making the kind of money you want to be in your home based business, it's because you are getting in your own way.
What do I mean, exactly? Look around.
In this business, the people that are making the most money probably aren't any smarter than you.
Or better looking.
Or "more deserving" (whatever that means).
In fact, the only difference between you and them is: 1) They believe they can succeed; and 2) They work from that belief, and don't allow for a second any thought that will contradict that belief to cross their mind.
In fact, it all comes down to belief.
Not convinced? Here's a test: 1) Look at what is working in your life.
2) Now, take a look at the belief you hold around that whatever it is.
What do you think about when you think about why it works? What are the feelings that come up around it? For example, you may be married to your soul mate, and consider yourself to be the luckiest man/woman on Earth because of it.
Right there, you have two extremely powerful beliefs around your marriage (first, that you are with your soul mate, and second, that you are very lucky for it) that make it work.
Even when it's hard.
Especially when it's hard.
The same came be applied to everything else in your life.
So if you're not earning the kind of money you want to be earning in your home based business, it doesn't matter how much you know, or how much training you get, or how focused and disciplined you are...
If you don't believe you can achieve that kind of success, you won't.
Period.
End of story.
The Law of Attraction is based on the metaphysical belief system that like attracts like, and that you get what you focus on...
for better or for worse.
For some people, this is good news.
After all, they already believe that they can be successful, that they only need to take the right actions, be disciplined in their approach, and follow through with a system, and success will naturally follow.
And so it does.
But for others, this can be discouraging.
After all, if we don't feel worthy of success, or, worse still, aren't aware of the often deep-seeded beliefs we have around our ability to succeed, the Law of Attraction can feel very weighted.
The work then becomes to go beyond the Law of Attraction to get to the bottom of whatever beliefs you may be holding onto to that are getting in the way of what it is that you want (in spite of all of your hard work) and to replace them with ones that support you and your goals.
The good news is, you can change those limiting beliefs and set yourself on a course for success.
Regardless of where you've come from, what your yesterday looked like, or how many times you've failed in the past, if you're ready to replace a disempowering belief system for one that takes you where you want to be, you're halfway there.
So how to get the rest of the way? How do you make success a reality? These five simple steps will get you on your way: 1) Set aside time everyday, preferably once in the morning, and once right before you go to sleep, for you.
This shouldn't take long - 10 minutes is fine - but it should be your first priority in the morning, before you check email or Facebook, or get up to make breakfast and get the kids ready for school, and the last thing you do before you fall asleep at night.
2) Turn off the internal chatter.
It's estimated that we have around 8,000 thoughts a day, and most of them are repeats of the 8,000 thoughts we had the day before, and the one before that.
This "mind clutter" can keep us in a fog and distance us from the things that really need our attention (like limiting beliefs that are getting in the way of our success), so it's essential that we tune out the chatter and listen to the silence.
There are many ways to do this, including prayer, meditation, or just quiet reflection, and you need to find an approach that suits your style.
Just following the gentle rhythm of your breath can settle your thoughts and clear the way for insights and inspiration to bubble up into your awareness.
3) In the mornings, once you've quieted your mind, ask yourself, "What do I want?" and just observe what comes up without judgment.
You may be surprised by what you find, or overcome with emotion.
That's okay.
When it comes to you and your success, there are no wrong answers.
In the evenings, once you've achieved this stillness, ask yourself, "What am I grateful for?" Gratitude is one of the most potent expressions of love, and has a way of drawing more of what we're thankful for to us.
It can also help us make sense of a long day, see gifts we may have overlooked, and notice emerging patterns of growth.
4) Keep a journal by your bedside to jot down your wants and the things you are grateful for, and review it often.
In time, you will be delighted to see that you are giving thanks for things that once were just a notation in your journal and that have now found expression in your day-to-day life.
5) Be patient with yourself and the process.
In the beginning, learning how to quiet the mind and tune into what it is that you really want - those things that you may have before been too afraid to vocalize - takes a bit of practice.
But if you make a commitment to eavesdrop on your desires and to recognize the things in life that you are most grateful for, you will start to see a difference.
Life will begin to flow more effortlessly, opportunities will show up as if from out of the blue, and you will feel lighter, more purposeful, more engaged and at ease.
So start today to eliminate all of those beliefs that are holding you back, and start changing the world...
beginning with the one inside of you.
