Confessions of the Wayward Teen
Life has never been so unbearable, as I led it the exact way I wanted up until the last day of being put in jail.
To all teens out there my words may not mean much to you now especially if you are in a self destructive mode like I used to be.
Oh what is it that causes one not to hear when being led in the right way? What is it that blocks all reasoning until you get to the end of the road? How sad? You cannot undo the harm you have caused especially to those whose lives have been cut short unexpectedly.
Life involves taking a series of decisions and woe betides you if you are taking the wrong decisions now because it will come back and bite you and real hard.
As one out of 3 brothers, I was brought up in a God-fearing home, but what did that mean to me? NOTHING.
I remember being taken to church regularly on a Sunday.
I did not quite enjoy those solemn moments and I use to wonder away from the church grounds wanting to escape.
My parents thought nothing about this behaviour even though my two other brothers stayed put in their pews.
As the years went by, I always wondered away from school since learning was not of much interest to me.
I found school hard and boring and was amongst the students who always got on the detention list.
This behaviour was detrimental to my school performance.
I tried as hard as I could to get away from any thing good.
I framed sickness and every imaginable stance to get away and to plan on evil thoughts.
Hope you have heard this saying that the devil finds work for ideal hands and that is exactly what happens when you always try to isolate yourself from people.
I remember how my parents could try to reason with me on my wayward behaviour, but I was just stubborn and did not heed a word they said.
My parents were so desperate to find the cause of my appalling behaviour as I became a teen so much so that they employed the services of psychiatrist who they paid half of their hard earned wages to, but it was to no avail.
I had determined never to let any good get in the way of the bad boy.
I once nearly got extradited from school, but for the sake of my pleading parents.
Occasionally I was good especially when I needed something from my beloved parents, but that was it.
Compared to me, my other brothers were like angels, not that I cared much, but I always had my way around my parents who desperately wanted me to be like my two other brothers James and Christopher.
I hated them and tried my hardest to stay away from them as far as I could.
I managed to get my parents to transfer me from the same school that we were all attending, since that way they would know what I was up to.
I formed the strongest boys gang in my new school and was their leader.
I knew some of them hated my guts, but what did I care? Until that fateful day when a big fight started between my gang and another gang from the neighbouring school.
I did not know what possessed me, but I guess my cheering gang led me to brutally injure a fellow brother.
This is what happens when you live your life, doing just what you please.
Life is guarded by principles.
The master creator put us all here for a reason.
He also gave us the kind of parents we have to nurture us.
Fellow teens; stay away from evil and do not be influenced by peer pressure.
Run away from youthful foolishness, because you have your whole future ahead of you.
Take wise decisions and success will certainly be yours.
You are meant to be a success!
