That wretched piece of plastic has landed you in a real soup and now you find yourself facing an uphill battle to repay the amounts you have used to buy what you at the time thought was a must have.
But now you have reached such a stage that you have to seek credit card debt relief.
But believe it or not, the `opponents', in this case credit card companies, will make it difficult for you.
Even closer scrutiny of your bills will not tip you off about the games they play.
Things to remember:- These companies thrive on late payments as this allows them to continually roll over the interest rate to higher and higher levels.
If individuals did this they would be charged with loan lending yet these firms manage to get away with a blatantly unfair practice designed to bring consumers to their knees and seek credit card debt relief.
In fact, they do not like it when people pay their total amounts due in time as this means they cannot charge an exorbitant interest rate.
There are many examples of when it comes time to renew a card, those who have an excellent repayment record that is they have paid over and over again on time, the purveyors of plastic will turn them down flat.
Being scrupulously honest clearly does not pay in such cases.
The companies will not just add interest, but insert hidden charges and fees which you would be unaware of.
These little extras are not found to be even mentioned when you read the fine print of the terms and conditions making for a nightmarish scenario.
Making things difficult:- There are also myriad examples where they have fiddled with the books literally overnight and you find yourself with a bill a foot long at the end of the month with no explanation forthcoming.
Even those dealing with credit card debt relief find these difficult to decipher making their task of negotiating just that much harder.
Although it would seem these companies would love to have their bills settled, even at a lower interest rate, they seem eager to make things difficult.
It is almost as if you have sinned in making only minimum payments.
This is despite them luring you with all kinds of offers, increasing your credit limit and introducing add-on facilities that can tempt even the strongest.
It is high time strict legislation was introduced making sure these companies do not get away with such unfair practices.
