Toshiba T115D Vs. T135
- Both the Toshiba Satellite T115D and Toshiba Satellite T135 run on the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. Each laptop has a low-power-consuming mid-range processor: the T115D with an AMD Athlon Neo chip and the T135 with an Intel Pentium SUxxxx series chip. Although the pre-installed system memory varied slightly from one machine to the other, the T115D and T135 have a maximum capacity of 4 GB.
- As ultraportable laptops, the Toshiba Satellite T115D and Toshiba Satellite T135 lack an internal optical drive for playing CDs and DVDs, although users can attach an external one to one of the laptops' three USB 2.0 ports. The hard disk drive usually offers 250 GB or 320 GB and spins at a middling 5,400 revolutions per minute. The motherboard-integrated video/graphics card comes from Intel or the Advanced Micro Devices subsidiary ATI, with a video memory range of 128 MB to 1.72 GB. Also included in both are a web camera and microphone built into each computer's light-crystal display bezel.
- For wired networking, each Toshiba Satellite T115D and T135 has an Ethernet driver, which provides up to 100 megabits per second in data transfer speed. A built-in wireless adapter adhering to the International Electrical and Electronics Engineers 802.11 protocol -- b/g set of standards for the T115D and b/g/n for the T135 -- is included for wireless networking. Apart from the aforementioned USB ports and the RJ-45 for the Ethernet, each laptop has a High Definition Multimedia Interface for uncompressed digital audio and video content transmission.
- With its 11.6-inch widescreen -- using Toshiba's TruBrite light-emitting diode backlight technology -- the Toshiba Satellite T115D is smaller than the T135, which uses a 13.3-inch widescreen. Both of them, however, use a 1,366-by-768-pixel resolution and 16-to-9 aspect ratio, thus matching each other in high-definition display quality. No T115D and T135 weighs more than 4 lbs., and each computer comes packaged with a 65-watt AC power adapter and 6-cell 5,600-milliampere-hour lithium-ion battery.
