The Homosexual Problem with Just Cookies
Time was, in the not so distant past, that there was no real problem with homosexuals.
They pretty much kept to themselves in diverse enclaves such as New York's Greenwich Village, Provincetown in Massachusetts, etc. We went to school with them, worked with them, even went to war with them at our sides. There was little if any trouble between heteros and homosexuals-before they adopted the "gay" label-except if they became overt and hit on the wrong hetero and except for the rare instance of some miscreant who went berserk and beat one up.
Violence was a two-edged sword, however, and there were instances of homosexuals as assailants and murderers of straights but they rarely received much press. That media inattention continued into the "gay era" with the vicious rapes and murders of 13 year old Jesse Dirkhising in 1999 in Arkansa and of 23 year old Jason Shephard in 2006 in Pennsylvania.
The turning points in the homosexual revolution came with the 1969 riots at Stonewall's in Greenwich Village and the decisions under duress by the American Psychiatric Association starting in 1973 to change its diagnosis of homosexuality from a deviant sickness to pronouncing homosexuals as "normal."
Since then we have witnessed gays being mainstreamed as gays in the entertainment field, politics, the media and education. We now have gay days and gay pride weeks, coming out parties, gay-themed parades, dyke marches in Boston and elsewhere, transgender proms, and a determined effort to repeal the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy.
That ascendancy crescendoed with the election of gay-friendly Barack Obama on November 4th, 2008 and, ironically, with California voters passing Proposition 8 rejecting gay marriage that same day. Along with Obama, we also got committed homosexual Kevin Jennings as Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education (for "safe schools") as well as other proud and outed gays in the administration.
They didn't come close to compensating gays for their defeat in the Golden State, however, and they made their discontent known, loudly, clearly, and sometimes violently. It's no exaggeration to say that all hell broke loose in gay communities nationwide with that rejection as homosexuals protested Californians' decision.
Contemporaneous with gays moving into the mainstream of general American life and society has been a decided muscle-flexing as they have pushed more and more into schools and colleges to advance their agenda of insisted acceptance. That topic has been treated at great length in this space.
Encouraged by their overall success in promoting their agenda, another "push" has been in the area of promoting themselves in the commercial sector. That may be misleading since the gay strategy is more akin to forcing themselves on various businesses, "forced homosexual affirmations," and destroying some of those enterprises in the process.
A recent instance of forcible affirmation involved a small, family-owned business in Indianapolis. "Just Cookies" had sold, what else, just cookies, (and some cupcakes), for 20 years in its store located in the city-owned City Market Building.
Americans for Truth detailed what happened when a gay group insisted on making a purchase that did not involve just cookies: "Just Cookies was approached by some local homosexual demands group activists and asked to make a special order of cupcakes designed with homosexual rainbows for the 'National Coming Out Day.' This is an event sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC. It exists solely to encourage homosexual behavior among students and kids.
"The owners of Just Cookies [the Stockton family] declined this special order, which required their design talents being used to embrace this controversial and morally questionable event. The activists could have purchased cookies and other items off the shelf, [or could have shopped elsewhere] but wanted something specific for their event at a local university. The homosexual demands groups saw a 'no thank you' as 'discrimination' simply because the owners didn't want any part of promoting homosexuality among kids.
"The issue really exploded this week when this news broke and the Mayor's office took the side of the homosexual demands crowd and threatened to evict Just Cookies from the City Market for 'discrimination.' In other words, the City is (was) attempting to compel the owners to be a part of a political event with deep spiritual, moral, and physical health ramifications!"
The Rainbow Cookie Scandal didn't end there, though, because the good guys mobilized, for a change.
Some 3,069 emails inundated the mayor's office after Micah Clark's American Family Association of Indiana sent out an email alert, "Just Cookies sold out of cookies twice after this story wound up on the front page of the Indianapolis Star and... People were lined up ten deep at times just to encourage the owners and to say thank you for standing for our values!" ([http://tiny.cc/v0z6v])
A major added bonus was that a homosexual protest was cancelled due to lack of interest.
The lesson to be drawn from the Just Cookies matter: Although it may not seem so, homosexuals comprise a tiny fractional percentage of the American populace. All that is needed for those who disagree with their ambitious agenda to "homosexualize" the population, and especially our kids, are a relatively few men and women to stand up and be counted in opposition.
If you live in the Indianapolis vicinity, why not stop in and buy just cookies, or a few cupcakes, to show your support for the fortitude of the Stocktons? One small step for heteros...
