How to Adjust a Kohler Shower Temperature Regulator
- 1). Remove the retaining screw from the shower handle using either a Phillips screwdriver or Allen wrench. Pull the handle off and set it aside.
- 2). Take off all adapters, inserts and sleeves between the handle and the faceplate, noting the order in which they are removed.
- 3). Remove the screws holding the faceplate to the regulator. Remove the faceplate and set it aside.
- 1). Rotate the valve stem and collar clockwise to start the flow of hot water.
- 2). Turn the set-screw on the temperature regulator collar counterclockwise to increase the maximum water temperature or clockwise to decrease the maximum water temperature.
- 3). Turn the set-screw until the desired temperature is reached. Rotate the valve stem and collar counterclockwise to shut off the water.
- 4). Install the faceplate and screws. Install the adapters, inserts and sleeves in the proper order. Install the handle and retaining screw.
- 1). Remove the O-ring from the valve stem, followed by the collar.
- 2). Turn the valve stem clockwise until the desired maximum temperature is reached.
- 3). Slide the collar onto the valve stem with the set-screw seated against the tab on the regulator housing. Slide the O-ring onto the valve stem until it is seated against the collar.
- 4). Turn the valve stem counterclockwise to turn off the water.
- 5). Install the faceplate and screws. Install the adapters, inserts and sleeves in the proper order. Install the handle and retaining screw.
