    • 1). Follow one of the sink basin's tailpiece pipes to its connection with the end outlet tee. Wrap a rag around the nut that connects the tee's upper opening to a tailpiece pipe. Grasp the nut through the rag and rotate the nut counterclockwise. After the nut's threads disengage from the pipe's threads, slide the nut and underlying washer up the pipe, away from the tee.

    • 2). Wrap a rag around the nut that connects the tee's center opening to a tailpiece pipe. Grip the nut through the rag and turn the nut counterclockwise. Loosen the nut until it disengages from the pipe. Slide the nut and underlying washer across the pipe, away from the tee's opening.

    • 3). Wrap the rag around the nut that connects the tee to the P-trap's upright extension pipe. Grip the nut through the rag and twist counterclockwise. Loosen and disengage the nut from the pipe. Slide the nut and underlying washer up, onto the tee's collar and away from the pipe.

    • 4). Grasp the tee's body and lift the tee away from the P-trap extension pipe. Pull the tee away from the sink basin's tailpiece pipes. Slide the nuts and washers off of the tailpiece pipes and the lower opening of the tee. Remove the nuts and washers from the replacement tee assembly package.

    • 5). Slide a nut over each tailpiece pipe, threads facing the pipes' openings. Slide a washer over each pipe, tapered side facing the pipes' openings. Slide a nut and washer onto the lower, smooth-sided opening of the replacement tee with the nut's threads and tapered end of the washer facing the tee's opening.

    • 6). Bend the P-trap extension pipe downward with a gentle push. Slip the smooth, lower opening of the tee into the pipe's opening. Release the pipe. Twist the tee to align its center and upper openings with the tailpiece pipes' openings. Slip the tailpiece pipes into the tee's center and upper openings.

    • 7). Slide the nut and washer down the lower portion of the tee and press the nut's threads against the trap extension pipe's threads. Turn the nut clockwise to join the nut with the pipe. Slide a nut washer toward the tee's center opening, press the nut against the center opening's threads and turn clockwise to join the pipe with the tee.

    • 8). Slide the upper nut and washer down the tailpiece pipe, press the nut against the tee's upper opening and turn clockwise to join the pipe with the tee. Tighten each nut roughly a quarter rotation beyond hand tight.
