How to Repel Cats With a High Frequency
- 1). Read the instructions for your particular brand of ultrasonic cat repellent for assembly and battery installation. Many brands of ultrasonic repellents are battery powdered or plugged into an outdoor outlet and require minimal assembly.
- 2). Locate the area in your property that is most frequented by the unwanted cats. For example, if the cats are frequenting your garden, install the high-frequency, motion-detecting repellent unit near the garden. The units will have a limited area to trigger the motion detector, generally around 20 to 30 feet from the unit.
- 3). Mount the unit to the wall or plastic stake, if one is included in your unit's kit. Push the stake into the ground.
- 4). Turn on the unit. The unit is used both during the day and at night. The movement of the cat near the unit will trigger it to emit the high-frequency noise. This frequency is also audible to other nuisance animals, including bats and mice.
