During the main event championship bout between Edge and Dolph Ziggler, referee Vickie Guerrero was injured when she tried to attack her former husband, Edge. After hitting Dolph Ziggler with the spear twice, Edge was in need of a referee to make the three count. Clay Matthews then ran to the ring and served as the referee by making the three count.
