Having one of your children lie to you is something that every parent must face at some point, and dealing with it can be a source of great stress and concern.

One other serious problems kids get stuck in is shoplifting.
The best way to get on top of that potential problem is to question them about the things that they bring home that you didn't get for them.
For many, it will be innocent sources, but you will also be able to tell if they are lying to you and are really stealing.
If you think they are stealing, but know they are not shoplifting, maybe they are ripping off other people from school.
Don't be afraid to talk to the teachers and see if there are any issues with theft in the classroom.
Now for the really hard one.
Look at your life and actions and decide if you are setting a good example for your kids to follow.
Sometimes the sad reality is that kids just follow the example of their parents, and if the parents are not living good and honorable lives, then what incentive is there for the kid to do anything different with their own?
