How to Draw Baseball Players

    • 1). Decide what type of player you will create (pitcher, catcher, batter) and if they will be in action. A batter in his hitting stance will be covered.

    • 2). Draw a circle about the size of a nickel a few inches from the top of your paper. Draw an oval about 1/4 inch below the circle. These shapes create a head and the torso of the player. Draw a thinner oval on the top right of the oval that crosses over the oval, then draw another oval attached to the end of that oval.

    • 3). Draw another elongated oval underneath the larger one to create a thigh, and another attached to the bottom of that shape to make the rest of the leg. Erase any lines that cross over the ovals to make the figure more lifelike. Add the player's rear leg by one half of the oval next to the leg you've already drawn. Add the player's feet.

    • 4). Add in details to the player, specifically the bat. Draw an upside down triangle underneath the batting "hand", then fill in the player's other "arm." You're figure should now look relatively 3D and complete. Draw smaller details like uniform crests, hats, and stripes, if applicable. Retrace your pencil work with the black ink to give your player a more realistic look.
