How to Study SAT Vocabulary
- 1
Study Early. The best advice I can give is to begin to study SAT vocabulary early on. You're not going to master SAT vocabulary overnight, or in a week for that matter. 1-2 months of preparation and consistent study should be expected if you wish to master the Vocabulary for the SAT. Review SAT vocabulary for 15-20 minutes a day for a 1-2 months until you feel you've mastered the vocabulary. - 2
Sign up for Online Study. To assist you as you study the SAT vocabulary, you should sign up for an online study service or buy an SAT study book. This will expose you to a large amount of foreign and difficult vocabulary that will prepare you for the vocabulary you will see on the SAT. The study guides made for the SAT will help you know which words to study. - 3). Create Flashcards. Flashcards can help you study and remember the difficult vocabulary you might encounter as you study SAT vocabulary. Flash cards will help you repeat the information to make sure you get it down. Pay special attention to vocabulary in the instructions and as you read. If you stumble across words and phrases you don't understand, write them down and include them in your studying. Using flashcards is a very effective method to study SAT vocabulary.

Take Practice Tests. Nothing will prepare you for the SAT vocabulary like the real thing. Since the practice tests are usually just older tests, sign up online and take some SAT tests and familiarize yourself with the vocabulary. Write down words you don't understand from the practice tests and add them to your flashcards to study. This will help you study for the SAT vocabulary.
