How to Make a Cat Out of Beads
- 1). Cut a three-yard section of thread or black lanyard string. Fold in half. Slip the folded loop through the jump ring, then pull both ends of the string through the loop.
- 2). String two black beads on one strand. Pass the other strand through these beads from the opposite direction so that the strands cross inside the beads.
- 3). String the beads for the cat's ear on one of the threads. String five black beads, two gray beads, two black beads, one gray bead and four black beads, in that order.
Loop the thread around and through the 12th and 13th black beads, making a cluster of three beads. Pass the thread back through the 11th, 10th and ninth beads (in that order). Pass the thread back through the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth beads. Pass the thread through the first, second, third and fourth beads.
Repeat with the other thread to make the second ear. - 4). String 10 black beads on one of the threads. Pass the other thread through these beads from the opposite direction. Repeat once.
- 5). String a row of beads for the cat's eyes: one black, one green, one black, one green, two black, one green, one black, one green, one black. Cross the threads inside the row.
- 6). String 10 black beads on one of the threads. Cross the threads.
- 7). String a row of four black beads, two pink beads, four black beads. Cross the threads.
- 8). String three black beads, one pink bead, and three black beads. Cross the threads inside the row as for the other rows. Make a final row of seven black beads and pull taut. Tie off the ends of the thread.
- 9). Cut short scraps of white plastic lanyard string or nylon beading thread, and thread through the beads forming the cat's nose. Attach the jump ring to a pin, chain, strap or keyring, as you like.
